This is my first attempt at writing a novel. Which genre is semi-easy to write in less than a year. I’ll write a young adult novel, but that brings me to the question of which type of young adult novel?

I then decided to combine sub-genres because I think it allows more freedom to add different elements to a story, and it would be more interesting for the reader. So, I made a list of possible sub-genres.

I decided to combine a few sub-genres, but the bulk of it would be Young Adult Sci-Fi/Fantasy with a bit of romance. It’s a teen story, so I figure that has to be in some part of the story. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to add thriller or mystery. It will be somewhere in the back of my mind just to add a little more flavor to the story.
